"shelter"

Pavilion

Location: Den Skandinaviske Designhøjskole

Year of construction: 2018

The project's intentions was to work 1: 1 with wood as a material, and create a beautiful and durable construction.

The "shelter" does not function like a regular shelter, but invites nature in and allows the user to have close contact with the surrounding landscape.

This "shelter" is inspired by the construction of a bridges, which we tried to show in the triangular structure. We also worked with translucent plastic to create a feeling of the layers working together.

The construction is lifted from the ground to make it appear as if it's floating and to make it feel like you are sitting on the edge of a cliff by the water. Additionally it prevents the construction from getting in contact with the moist soil.
