Silent houses of the backyard

Through my interpretation of the task given to a collective which deals with the densification of the city center, as well as to create communities, I have chosen to investigate the possibility of facilitating both workshops and housing for people from the creative environment who want to start their own business.
The project seeks to find a balance in the private home, which both requires an involvement in the community, but which provides the opportunity to retire and be private in ones home.
The intention of this project is to unite the current context with the industrial and creative history of the site. In the process, the spirit of the courtyard is maintained and the environment of the courtyard unite the common and private.
The houses takes on a superficial configuration of the existing houses prototypical elements; repetitive windows, timber framing, and a pitched roof. In doing so, the houses is aligned within its context yet pronouncing itself through a refinement of substance.
